Quite often we come across the phrase being comfortable in one’s own skin. The metaphorical meaning of the phrase is quite grand – the ability to remain confident regardless of our outer appearance – but anyone who says that looks do not matter can eat my hat. Looks do matter – beautiful and handsome people have far more doors open for them that un-beautiful and un-handsome ones. But I believe that outward appearance, much like any other talent or character trait of an individual can be improved upon. All one needs is patience and money – the more the better.
I’ve grown up with my own set of insecurities about my skin and my hair. I have suffered from acne pretty much all my life and I have frizzy, curly hair. Yes, I know, high school was a bitch. But the past 4 years have given me what I never had in high school – financial independence and time to sift through mounds and mounds of literature concerning the science of skin and hair care. That combined with well fitted and ironed dresses can change anyone into Cinderella. The trick to looking pretty is to look more put-together, to look as if time, effort and care has gone into you looking the way you are looking. My journey was frustrating at times but figuring out a proper skin-care and hair-care routine has been a rewarding experience. So here I am, sharing with my readers, the results of my 4 years worth of research and experimentation. Hope this helps you be comfortable in your skin too.
